Camp Benny is operated by Kindcam CampsKidcam Camps, a high-caliber provider with 50+ years of experience and the trust of 5,000+ families each year. We will use Kidcam’s registration and operations model, layering on special training to accommodate our campers. 

Camp Director

Darbi Philibert, a distinguished occupational therapist and dedicated advocate for children with special needs, returns for her second year as Camp Director of Camp Benny. With more than 30 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy, Darbi has dedicated her career to fostering inclusion and supporting the developmental growth of children with autism and other neurodiversities through a family-centered, collaborative approach. She is a Certified Autism Specialist and the owner of Thrive Therapeutics, where she provides individualized, strength‑based interventions designed to empower each child to reach their fullest potential.

Assistant Director

 Jade Lee is a compassionate Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges with empathy and understanding. She has experience working with diverse populations and strives to create a safe, welcoming space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and personal goals. In addition to her clinical work, Jade works within the school system, where she helps children navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges. She enjoys collaborating with educators and families to support each child’s growth, confidence, and success. Jade has a special passion for working with children and uses thoughtful, developmentally appropriate approaches that honor each child’s unique strengths and needs. She is excited to be part of Camp Benny this summer and looks forward to making meaningful connections with campers.

Program Coordinators

Kaitlyn Sandlin is a dedicated and compassionate elementary educator with a heart for creating inclusive, nurturing learning environments. With experience as both a general education and special education teacher, she has worked across a variety of classroom settings, always striving to meet the unique needs of every child. Kaitlyn currently teaches first grade in a special education inclusive classroom, where she fosters a space where all students feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Her passion lies in helping children thrive not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and developmentally—believing that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish as their whole self.

Maddie McGraw is a passionate and experienced educator dedicated to supporting children in a variety of learning environments. She is entering her second year as a Program Coordinator with Camp Benny, where she is excited to continue creating meaningful and engaging experiences for campers. With seven years of teaching experience across general education, special education, and physical education, Maddie brings a well-rounded and adaptable approach to working with children of all abilities. In addition to her classroom experience, Maddie has spent over 12 years as a counselor at Krewe de Camp, a one-week camp serving children with developmental delays. Her long-standing commitment to inclusive programming reflects her deep belief in meeting each child where they are and helping them grow with confidence.

Lead Counselor

Thomas Ross Babin is a dedicated caregiver and advocate with sixteen years of experience volunteering with children with special needs. As the owner of his own specialized babysitting service, Thomas Ross provides high-quality, individualized support tailored to the unique requirements of every child he serves. His deep-rooted commitment to the community is personal, stemming from his own family experiences and a long-standing desire to foster inclusive environments. Returning for his second year at summer camp, Thomas Ross looks forward to helping campers build confidence and meaningful connections.
